Helmand Construction Company:

Helmand Construction Enterprise was founded in 1966 as a result of the acquisition of experts, equipment and infrastructure from Morison Knodson, a company that had completed a project in Helmand.  The enterprise was given an initial budget of 300 million afghanis but also managed to secure funding from the Asian Development Bank and World Bank during its early days.

Some of the significant early projects of the enterprise include the irrigation project of Khanabad,, fortification of Amu river banks, Lashkari river project, Salma dam project and Kamal Khan dam project. The enterprise has nine operational units across the country and 175 employees.

The enterprise since legally changing into a corporation and merging into the National Development Corporation has been engaged in the projects of the construction of the canal and dam of Machalgho and the irrigation project of Kabul.
